Letterkenny took the lead in the first 10 minutes with a good try combining backs and forwards, Lewi Carson went over to score and Stephen Robinson converted it.

Ballyshannon then countered with a great solo effort around the 25-minute mark with a try. Just before half time, some great work by the forwards cleared the way for a try before the break, young David Ward scored and Robinson converted. It was 14 - 7 for Letterkenny at halftime.

The second half started how the first ended, with Letterkenny piling on the pressure, with another three points to show for it, thanks to Stephen Robinson.

Ballyshannon weathered the storm and came back with some great work of their own, the pressure was on the LK defence which held out well for the most part. Ballyshannon scored another tries tries in the corner of which one was converted to make it 17 - 19.

As the game went on it got a bit scrappy as there were a lot of tired bodies on both sides which led to a few silly mistakes, resulting in a few penalties for both sides, with Robinson stepping up and scoring a big three points for Letterkenny with about 15 minutes to go.

Ballyshannon missed a penalty at the very end to take the victory. Final score LK 20 - Ballyshannon 19.
