50 young players attended the 3 day Summer Camp in Letterkenny RFC last week. Skills were improved, games were played and some new players have experienced the thrills and spills of rugby for the first time. Sadly the weather did not behave and we had to make the best of it as the Irish Summer provided mainly showers with a few glimpses of sunshine in between. Luckily, our coaches and players are made of stern stuff and we had a superb 3 days of sport with lots of fun and many tries scored. All the players are now ready to hit the ground running for the new season starting next week.
Many thanks to all our coaches who took time off work to manage this event, and our assistant coaches from the youth section.
A special thanks to Ander Sedano our Spanish intern from the Basque country who has been helping with all club activities since the start of July, and had great fun with our younger players.
The Mini rugby season starts this coming Saturday - Sept 2nd at 9.30 sharp. New players are very welcome and as always parents who wish to help with coaching or catering are always encouraged to support this vibrant and fun part of our club. Any offers of help, no matter how small, will be gratefully received if you wish to contribute for the season.
