Letterkenny u18s took on Limavady at Dave Gallaher Park on Saturday in blustery conditions. The first 20 minutes of this game went Limavadys way with them scoring an early try. Letterkenny began to get a foothold thereafter with Odhran McGonagle and Rory McGinty kicking well into the corners. Letterkenny’s pack used the territory to force their way over the line twice in quick succession with both Keenan Barrett and Odhran McGonagle writing their names on the scoreboard. They second half started well for the Letterkenny men, another try early on for McGonagle once again meant Letterkenny grew their lead to 14 points. Limavady did come back well in the middle of the half by using the wind and kicking it long. They were rewarded with two tries and Levelling the game with 15 minutes left. With the game now in the Balance Letterkenny kept the pressure on and were relieved to see Rory McGinty touchdown for the second following a magnificent individual break from 40 meters out. Letterkenny have been getting consistently better following a slow start to the season, they travel to Coleraine on Friday night in the hope that they will continue the upward trend.
