Letterkenny started the match strongly with some great play from the forwards and made their way down the field to the right hand corner, where they won a penalty and Kaymin kicked into the corner for a line out. From the line out the ball went out the line and the pack spread across the field and worked hard to go for the try line but could not quite get there so the ball was whipped out to the back line where Jack spear pluck a pass from the air and ran a perfect line through the middle of the Tirconnel defence and scored our first try. Kaymin followed with hos first successful conversion of the morning, after 10 mins of play Letterkenny led by 7.
From the KO Letterkenny continued with their impressive surges down the field and Dean Callaghan was next to score when he burst over the line, score 12 - 0 after 20 mins.
For the remainder of the first half Tir Chonnaill came back into the game and manger to score a try and conversion with only mins to half time, so 12-7 at the break.

Letterkenny had an explosive start to the second half and within a min Dean Callaghan crashed over the line for his second but the conversion went just wide of the posts from a difficult angle. 17-7.
Next it was Tirconnell turn to turn the screw and they worked their way up the field with some great breaks and follow up play and scored between the posts to leave the score at 17-14.
So with 15 mins left on the clock Letterkenny continued to battle their way down the field with some great plays from forwards and back alike and this time Kaymin found himself with ball in hand and with some nimble feet work danced his way across the line to score his first of the day which he followed up with the conversion leaving the scores at a seemingly comfortable 24-14 with only 8 or 9 mins to play.

However from athe restart in which the ball did not seem to make it over the 10 meter line Tir Chonnaill broke the letterkenny defence and score under the posts again, leaving a 3 point game with only mins to play.

Letterkenny managed to work their way back up to the try line and despite some gallant efforts to cross the line again were held up twice over the line, the ref blew the final whistle and the game end at 24-21.

Well played everyone and a great start to the new season.
