The agreed mission for our youth section - To develop rugby at Youth level in Letterkenny RFC with particular emphasis on participation, enjoyment, life skills and player and team development.
Youth Rugby has grown hugely within Letterkenny RFC over the last 6 years. As a club, we aim to continue our growth at youth level and provide a valuable sporting experience for all our players as the club goes forward.
Our coaches have all been committed volunteers to the club and sport and are again looking forward to another enjoyable year of rugby with the Letterkenny RFC Youth Section. All coaches have been fully trained in line with the clubs child protection policy, and most have a basic first aid training designed specifically for rugby. We welcome all players and look forward to meeting new players who join. As an exciting team sport, rugby has a huge amount to offer younger people in terms of physical activity, discipline, team spirit, social skills, identity and self esteem. It is a sport which can give young people a life long interest and enjoyment, and allow them to find fun and friends wherever life takes them. We hope to provide a quality product to all players and their families and see success in both playing and the wider social aspects of rugby, through Letterkenny RFC Youth Section.
We are very keen to invite help and assistance from parents in running the Youth Section. Any help received, no matter how small will be invaluable in developing the Youth Rugby in Letterkenny RFC. Volunteers are needed for U13s, U17s and U19s. Also for Tag on a Tuesday from 6 to 7 pm in Aura.
For any queries please contact Youth Convenor Martin Mortimer on 087 9490929
