A bright beautiful morning, in Donegal Town, promised a wonderful day of rugby.
With a full compliment of 19 players, Letterkennny faced it's first opponent, Ballyshannon A. In the toughest battle, Oisin Farrell, stormed through the Ballyshannon defence, to score the first try of the day, for Letterkenny - this is becoming a bit of a habit for Oisin. Niall Murray continued the assault, scoring the second try. Ballyshannon replied with a try of their own, but it wasn't enough, and Letterkenny won by 2 tries to one ( the first win against Ballyshannon, this season. )
Our second match, was against Donegal Town. In a one sided contest, Letterkenny ran in a total of eight tries. One to Alex McDermott, and one to Ben Hopkins ( acting as scrum half, he saw a gap, and ran over for the try. ) Two tries each to Zack, Eoin, and Jack McBrearty. Letterkenny winning by eight tries to three.
Our final game, was against Ballyshannon B. This provided another strong showing from Letterkenny. A hat-trick of tries for Kaymin, plus a try each for Eoin, Jack Speer, Seimi, Rory and Peter. The final result - Letterkenny 8, Ballyshanon B, one.
A wonderful day of rugby for all. Thanks to Donegal Town RFC.
