Despite what the final scoreline might suggest, this was a physical and tightly contested encounter. The home side provided a stern challenge throughout, but Letterkenny responded superbly and produced a strong team performance.

Letterkenny made a positive start and opened the scoring through Sam Webber, who finished off a well-worked lineout move. Martin Corbett then added two excellent tries as the visitors began to build their advantage.

Out-half Dylan Curley delivered a strong performance during the opening half and made a decisive impact after the interval. Curley intercepted twice and showed excellent pace and awareness to run both tries in beneath the posts.

The Letterkenny scorers were Dylan Curley with two tries, Martin Corbett with two and Sam Webber with one. Curley and Cormac Gallagher also added two conversions each.

This was a fantastic all-round team performance and a brilliant way for the U16s to begin their season.
