Letterkenny U10s travelled to Armagh to play in the regional Aviva u10s festival. The rain didn’t stop all morning but didn't dampen the players enthusiasm during the very well run tournament.
Drawn in a tough group against Belfast Harlequins, Ballymena and the host club Armagh all the players gave a good account of themselves.
There were some good runs from Erin Gallagher and Padraig Gallagher throughout the day. Donnchadh Watters was always prominent in each of the games with the ball in hand and eager for work. Daragh Curley and Matthew Farrell tackled like dervishes all day to ensure the opposition had to work really hard for any gains, and Temple Akpo, playing his first ever game of rugby, showed glimpses of his footwork and pace in the first two games but cut loose in the last game for Letterkenny’s try of the day with a 50m sprint.
All in all it was a really enjoyable and worthwhile tournament for all the players.
