Letterkenny hosted BallyClare today at the Dave Gallagher grounds, with LK just above Ballyclare on the league table by points difference only, this game was one LK had to win.
Lk started the better with some great running from the forwards after receiving the kick off and with some good hands Conor M. went in for the first try on the 2 minute mark. Which was converted by Bobby.
The restart saw LK doing the same again but with some good tackles from ballclare halted the LK advance.
LK had most of the possession and were working hard to get into there game plan. With rucking going well LK where winning ball alot and as a result things were made easy for Rory to pick and go down the blindside and in for a try on the 11th minute.
As the first half progressed LK where playing good rugby but with first time tackles not going in let Ballyclare went in for there first try.
But LK got up and went back into there style of play with good rucking from Conor M. Donnchadh, Dean, Brendan Greg and Matthew, the ball was won and picked up by Rory who made a dart for the line but got tackled but managed to off load to Greg who went in for his first try of the season.
The Second half started off the same as the first with good handling skills from the backs Fabio to Matthew to Mya and speed and determination Mya broke through a couple of tackles to go over for another Try on the 2 minute mark.
As the second half progressed LK were starting to play some great rugby with the scrum going very well considering Anthony a late change from prop to hooker played very well in the position. But Ballyclare still battled away and the LK missed tackles where awarded with another Try.
But this seem to push LK on to try to score more and continue to play a fast running game of rugby.
So on the 9 minute Conor goes in for his second try with a great run, then with good support from Anthony he goes in for his first try of the season on the 11 minute, then Conor M. in for his hat trick on the 20th minute conversion by bobby, followed by Fabios try on the 23rd minute conversion by Bobby and finally on the last play of the game with great hands from almost everyone on the LK team Bobby goes in for the final Try.
Over all a great game of rugby played by the U14's and shows that with the training and hard work they have been butting in they are now starting to rep the awards.
Well done.
Thanks to all for coming out to watch.
