A great team effort. Both sides evenly matched in first half with a try from utility player extraordinary Fabio seperating the sides at the break. Unfortunately, Charlie was centimeters wide with a fine conversion effort from an acute angle. Some hard tackles were put in by both sides with Letterkenny marginally on top. However, some handling errors, not helped by a slippy ball meant that some chances to extend their lead were missed by Letterkenny. A stirring team talk from Coach Carl Quinn at half time and Letterkenny were out of the traps with real purpose. Letterkenny started chasing every ball, rucking well and making the yards. This hard work resulted in Conor McMenamin crossing in the left hand corner. Omagh tried to take the game to Letterkenny from the restart but Letterkenny regained possession and with some neat passing and purposeful running Mya Alcorn crossed for Letterkennys third try. Omagh to their credit never dropped their heads and kept plugging away. But this left them open and cue the moments of the game. First off, a great flowing movement led to Charlie finding himself in possession inside the Omagh 22 where in a moment that would have Jonny Sexton purring with delight he floated a near perfect cross field ball from the boot for the free Bobby to narrowly miss scoring, not helped by the slippery ball. Then, again with Charlie at the heart of matters winning possession inside Letterkennys half, we had Rory taking ball in hand and running with strength and purpose for the posts, grounding perfectly between them after a few dazzling sidesteps. Up stepped Bobby to add the two points and Letterkenny had sealed their 5th league win in a row. Next up home to Enniskillen.
