A sunny autumn morning. Letterkenny had the opportunity, to play a friendly against Omagh.
Due to the nature of the match, and the large Letterkenny squad, coaches were able to play around, with the selections.
Letterkenny got off to a great start. Strong running, the forwards were able to keep possession of the ball, and give the Letterkenny backs, plenty of runs. At the 22, a breakaway for the loose forward, Emmett Gillespie, gave him his first try, in a full match situation. Letterkenny continued to be the more dominant, having more of the possession, but were not able to get points out of it. Omagh struck back, with a try, in the corner, to be followed by a Letterkenny try, to number eight, Oisin Farrell - in almost the same place that Emmett, had scored 20 minutes earlier.
Half time - Letterkenny 10, Omagh 5
The second half, saw almost a full change to the back-line, and changes in the forward pack.
In the first five minutes, fullback, Ewan Douglas, ran in a try, ducking and weaving through the opposition, that was started at the halfway mark. Kaymin converted the try. Letterkenny struggled with the rucking, but found their form and a fourth try, was scored by the other loose forward, Tiernan McFadden. Omagh had the final word, with a runaway try of their own.
