The Under 12s played a solid Ballyshannon side. Ballyshannon opened the scoring with the first try. Letterkenny came back strong and fought hard on their own tryline. Different players thought they were over, but just couldn't get the try. In the second half, after a ruck near the tryline, Peter Sparks managed to burst over the line to score Letterkenny's equalizer. The game ended with a One-All draw.
The second game of the day, against visiting Tir Chonaill, saw a robust performance, from the team, with tries from Ben Hopkins, two tries from Kaymin Short, and the first match tries of the season for David Sparks, Daithi Doherty, Seimi Breslin, and two tries for Alex McDermott.
We rounded out the day, with a friendly game, featuring the Letterkenny under 12s, playing the Letterkenny under 11s. As you would expect, the under 11s, felt they had something to prove, as did the under 12s. As this reporter, might show his own bias, all there is to say, is that it was a good contest, with good rugby, that ended with a Two-All Draw. Congratulations to all the team.
